How is To Sell a War different from the other documentaries we have watched?
To Sell a War is different from the pervious documentaries we have watched as it is based around a significant event that was occurring at the time, the Gulf War, and was used to mostly inform. It was a lot shorter, the facts weren't overly distorted, it was more of a news style, the format was different, and it was an expository documentary.
What techniques were used to portray their point of view?
- Interviews
- Facts/evidence
- Voice of God
- Evidence was from the lady that was crying, the doctors that visited the hospitals, the ambassador
- Ambassador was portrayed to look defensive as there were shots included where he was lost for words and didn't know what to say about his daughter's story, etc. and he looked weak as there were low angled close ups

What technique did 'Free Kuwait' use in their campaign?
- Propaganda
- Filmed their own press stories and news companies paid for these, which means that it is very biased and would have contained distorted facts
- Appealed to the emotions of the American public to manipulate them for support

What was the purpose of the documentary?
The purpose of To Sell a War was to inform viewers that the infamous testimony that the Iraqi soldiers stormed the hospitals in Kuwait and stole the babies out of the incubators was a lie in order to gain support from the United States. This story that was told multiple times led the United States to become involved in the war as it was already a consideration, and this documentary was also to persuade viewers that the United States' intervention and support in the war was unnecessary.
